How long have you been in business?
Jim Beaver, the DJ & KJ has been playing live music since he was 16 years old. Now he and his wife Penny travel the Austin-Georgetown-Leander area playing music for weddings, private and corporate function.s
What is your primary product or service?
DJ and Karaoke music and fun for all occasions. Weddings are our specialty, but we play a lot of private karaoke parties for birthdays, celebrations and corporate functions.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have been performing in live bands since a teenager. I know do a lot of traveling for my "real" job, which makes it difficult to play in a band, so I picked up the equipment I needed to do music whenever I'm available.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I do all my music electronically. No discs anymore - no skips. Our sound system is top-of-the-line equipment and we offer over 24,000 karaoke songs (and it's always growing). I also offer DJ and emcee in all of my packages, which start as low as $250.Weddings, including the ceremony are generally $450 complete for 5 hours.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location, but I serve Williamson County, Austin, Leander, Cedar Park, Pflugerville and up to Salado.
